Who will I be working for?
Successful applicants will be offered employment with Canvas Holidays. The company operates independently but belongs to Group RCI who are part of Wyndham Worldwide, one of the largest travel service providers in the world.
How old do I have to be to work for Canvas Holidays?
All applicants have to be of a minimum age of 18 years old on the day that work commences – this is a legal requirement.
If have a driving license will I be driving overseas?
If you have held a full clean driving license for more than a year then please complete the driving section on the application form for us to then discuss with you at interview.
Will I be working on my own?
Two or more couriers staff most sites across our programme. However if you prefer working on your own, a small number of sites have what are known as ‘Single Site Couriers.’ The bigger sites will be run by Senior Couriers, Site Supervisors or Site Managers who will ensure that the site is run to the expected company standard.
Can I choose where I want to work?
You will be provisionally placed by our experienced Site Operations Team who have a vast knowledge of the campsites we work with. You can specify a preferred region; however we cannot guarantee that you will be placed there. Language ability and previous experience is considered when placing staff.
Where am I going to live?
You are provided with a fully equipped Canvas Holidays Tent, which dependant on the size of the team on-site can be shared or you could have sole occupancy.
We do have certain sites allocated to staff that request to bring their own campervan or motor home.
Do I need insurance?
We will provide you with medical insurance in case of serious illness, but you should make sure you have a European Health Insurance Card which will cover you for day-to-day medical problems. Click Here For More Information.
Will I get any training?
All our overseas staff will receive comprehensive training either at one of our residential training courses or on your allocated campsite. You will be trained by experienced personnel who have an excellent knowledge of the job and a good understanding of the onsite roles.
What do I do if things go wrong?
You will have an Area Manager who will ensure that you receive all the support and assistance you need. There is also an excellent support team on hand 24 hours a day in the UK head office, should you need to get in touch with someone.
What do I have to wear?
We will provide you with a uniform which you should wear when carrying out your day to day on-site tasks. All staff will be expected to be well presented and tidy at all times.
How will I be paid?
All seasonal staff will be paid a monthly salary directly into either a UK or Dutch bank account. It is your responsibility to ensure you have access to your money during your time abroad.
How do I get to site?
Travel will be arranged from the UK or Holland, to the site that you will be working on during the summer. Dependant on when you are traveling will deter the method of transport used, which could be a flight, coach, ferry or train.
If it is agreed that you can take your own vehicle then a contribution will be made towards your costs, the exact details will be sent with your joining instructions.
What if I want to do this as part of a university or college placement?
We work closely with colleges and universities as many students combine working overseas with part of the required work experience placement. During the placement we will ensure that you receive the support and assistance needed relevant to your course and provide you with our Student information pack.
